Christmas movies can get a little repetitive year after year, so we’ve combined a list of the 10 movies and a TV shows that you can binge watch over the festive period – all of which have a bike playing an important role!

Arthur Christmas

A wonderful Christmas movie for all the family, it's fun and festive so a perfect watch following a full Christmas dinner. Plus Arthur Christmas and his handy elf companion Bryony helps him to wrap a bike up for Christmas  - whilst it's being ridden. What a skill!

Everyone knows that each Christmas, Santa Claus delivers presents to every last child on Earth. What everyone doesn't know is that Santa accomplishes the feat with a very high-tech operation beneath the North Pole. But when the unthinkable happens, and Santa misses one child out of hundreds of millions, someone has to save the day. It's up to Arthur, Santa's youngest son, to deliver a present to the forgotten tyke before Christmas morning dawns.

Jumanji

Everyone has seen Jumanji, I hope. I don't mean the 2017 remake, the original 1995 movie with the amazing Robin Williams. It's a classic movie and perfect for a snuggly family Boxing Day afternoon.

The bike chase scene in Jumanji features a Raleigh chopper, so it's well worth a watch!

A magical board game unleashes a world of adventure on siblings Peter and Judy Shepherd. While exploring an old mansion, the youngsters find a curious, jungle-themed game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parrish, who's been stuck in the game's inner world for decades. If they win Jumanji, the kids can free Alan for good -- but that means braving giant bugs, ill-mannered monkeys and even stampeding rhinos.

E.T.

A Christmas favourite! E.T. is constantly on the TV at Christmas. Well, it is a classic and the bike scene plays a very important role in the E.T. story. Everyone has seen E.T. fly his friends' group of bikes through the air and past the moon. If you haven't, then get yourself in front of the TV to watch the whole movie!

After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott. Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie, and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

Napoleon Dynamite

In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico, shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro, a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president.

Stranger Things

It may not be Christmas themed but if you haven't binged Strangers Things seasons 1 & 2 yet, then you are missing out big time. It's ideal for your week off at Christmas, lounging around in your new PJs and the kids are having a nap. It also has an incredible bike scene in it, including a Raleigh Chopper! You're welcome...

Mike, Dustin and Lucas. The boys discover that their friend, Will Byers, went missing after a routine game of Dungeons & Dragons. While biking through the woods, they stumble upon a strange girl who calls herself Eleven.

The Goonies

The Goonies is now classed as a classic cult movie and it may not be Christmassy but it's a great movie to introduce the kids too - especially if you enjoyed it when you were younger. It has an adorable little girls bike in it too - take a look!

When two brothers find out they might lose their house they are desperate to find a way to keep their home. They find a treasure map and bring some friends along to find it. They are all out looking for the "X" and trying to get away from a group of bad guys who also want the treasure.

Karate Kid

In this classic movie, the Karate Kid is learning to fight against the brutal Cobra Kai. In this scene, Daniel is peddling away from the biker gang - he might have gotten further if it was a Raleigh bike!

Daniel moves to Southern California with his mother, Lucille, but quickly finds himself the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Fortunately, Daniel befriends Mr Miyagi, an unassuming repairman who just happens to be a martial arts master himself. Miyagi takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate and preparing him to compete against the brutal Cobra Kai.

The Wizard Of Oz

There is no doubt that the Wizard of Oz will be on this Christmas and we all hate the nasty Miss Gulch. She takes Toto away in the basket on the back of her bicycle... no fear though... we know he escapes!

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.

Mr Beans Holiday

Ah Mr Bean, loved by everyone! In his 2007 movie, he gets on his bike and rides through the roads of France - even overtaking some pro-cyclists. This film is perfect if you're looking for a relaxed and funny afternoon in your pyjamas with the kids.

When London's wet weather becomes too much to bear, pratfall-prone Mr Bean heads to the French Riviera for some fun in the sun. As usual, his plans do not go smoothly, and he is mistaken for both a kidnapper and an award-winning filmmaker when he arrives with a Romanian director's son and an aspiring actress in tow.

Premium Rush

The entirety of this film is based on riding bikes. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a bike messenger in New York. Don't try this at home on your own bike though...

For bike messenger Wilee, dodging speeding cars, evading crazy cabdrivers, and blowing by millions of cranky pedestrians is all in a day's work. Wilee is one of the best in a dangerous job, and his bike of choice is a Fixie, a lightweight, single-gear unit without brakes. Though Wilee knows that one day he may end up as a smear on the pavement -- he is unprepared for what happens after his last run of the day turns into a life-or-death chase through Manhattan.

Small Soldiers

An oldie but a goody. Small Soldiers is a great kid-friendly movie - that we still have on VHS. The bike scene in this movie is great, the kids are trying to escape the attack of the tiny toy soldiers that have come to life!

When teenager Alan buys a set of Commando Elite action figures, he's unaware that they have been programmed with military technology. The toys, including leader Chip, spring to life and start taking their directives seriously, beginning by "killing" their enemies, the toy Gorgonites. But Archer (and the Gorgonites won't go down without a fight. Alan gets caught in the middle of the war, as does his neighbour and crush, Christy.
