Through a process of reverse engineering, consulting archived technical drawings and gathering insights from lifelong Chopper fans, we’ve worked hard to create a Chopper that’s as technically similar as possible to the original bike – and as wonderfully iconic. But, like most rereleases, there had to be a couple of small tweaks to make sure it fits modern safety standards. You can find a complete breakdown of the new Raleigh Chopper and how it lines up with the original here: Meet the 2023 Chopper - Classic but With a Few Tweaks
The main differences are the manufacturing processes. The new model is welded rather than brazed, the crank is a square tapered arm and sealed bottom bracket rather than cotter pin. The sissy bar is slightly lower than the original and does not protrude over the back of the saddle. The hubs are aluminium body rather than steel.
The frame is steel.
Yes, if you would like to buy your Chopper in the store we can organise for the bike to be shipped to you (within the UK).
Your Chopper will come in a sealed anniversary box and will be almost completely built - all you'll need to do is attach the pedals and turn the handlebars.
